Sports Psychology Treatment
Here in our Mumbi, centre we are becoming more aware of mental health issues and to celebrate this, we have opened a new sports therapy council for professional sports players.
Being a professional athlete is more than just being a millionaire that wears shorts in all kinds of whether, it is unsurprising they have conflicts in their head.
Our new sports therapy treatment has already been tested and with success. This will now be fully rolled out full on March 27th.
Here are excerpts of one trail that took place. All the following has been given consent by the patient to help spread the word of these mental health issues.
- Case Study 000023:
- Sex: Male
- Age: 29
- Sport: retired footballer
Our patient is a retired football player that had to cut short their playing career due to a metatarsal injury. They now are having issues with gambling and a sense of pressure to provide for the family now that there is no mainstay income into his account.
Patient 000023: “I gamble mainly online, I like to do sport betting on the football as it is a field of expertise for me.”
Therapist: “Do you have any tips when betting?”
Patient 000023: “I feel this overwhelming burden though that my time is now focused on the urge to make money rather than spend it with my eight children and two wives.”
Therapist: “Who do you have for Barcelona versus Napoli in the Champions League?”
Patient 000023: “When you’re making millions each year and spending it on lavish stuff that means nothing, you don’t think too much about the future, you find yourself living in the moment. I would train from 8 in the morning through to 12, then we lunch and rest. After we do light tactical training from 1 to 3 and then we go home. This is everyday 6 days a week with the exception of match days.”
Therapist: “Brut Haaland to Dortmund, think he could help them win the Bundesliga? Seems too young to carry a team but his goal return is immense.”
Patient 000023: “My days since retirement have resulting in spending all my assets and my two wives refuse to work, given they are both accustom to the lifestyle, and the children are still so young and they still ask me if I’m playing this weekend and I do not have the courage to tell them daddy doesn’t play anymore instead I have to leave the house every game day and hide in a box in the garage so they don’t see me.”
Therapist: “My god, that’s terrible. Ajax 1 to 4 this weekend, yet their form has dipped massively. Sorry, continues, you mentioned boxes, do you plan to move?”
Patient 000023: _“I’ve looked at selling the house, it’s value is estimated to be 3 million rupees but yet again the family are settled and the change is overwhelming I’d rather not move but then how to you go from a mansion to a flat that doesn’t have an indoor swimming pool?” _
Therapist: “Well, this is much better, I think we’re getting somewhere, Bet 365 gave me a free 5 rupee bet for this weekend, fantastic.”
Patient 000023: “I sometimes think I’m better off taking my own life.”
Therapist: “…Indeed.”
